La ciutat dels cineastes #00039 Description In November of 2001, the Centro de Cultura Contemporánea de Barcelona showed the exhibit La ciutat dels cineastes (The City of the Filmmakers), organised by Jordi Balló and Andrés Hispano, which presented the work of over thirty contemporary directors. The exhibit sought to show how a series of issues that mainly affect the concept of contemporary urban space are not only intuited in the works of the main masters of current cinema, but also that in the group of all of the particular cities of each director, forming a sort of geography with undefined limits. The catalogue, designed by David Torrents, takes up this same spirit, proposing a reflection on the treatment of space in modern cinema, as well as on the different ways of seeing and understanding cinema. |
